grown in wells: flower goblin addition.

Welcome to Flower Goblin

At Flower Goblin, we celebrate the magic, resilience, and beauty of flowers in a way that’s both deeply personal and wildly creative. Nestled in the hardy Zone 2/3 climate, where winters linger and summers feel precious, our work is a testament to how challenging conditions can lead to something extraordinary.

For me, gardening isn’t just a pastime—it’s a source of joy, discovery, and deep connection. Growing up, I always dreamed of becoming a florist, captivated by the beauty of blooms and the art of arranging them. Even before I realized I was an artist, flowers were my canvas. Now, Flower Goblin is my way of bringing that childhood dream to life, combining the artistry of floral design with the storytelling of my garden.

Gardening in the Hardy Zone 2/3

Living and gardening in a Zone 2/3 climate is both a challenge and a gift. While the short growing season demands careful crop selection and planning, it also offers unique rewards. Tulips linger until July, thanks to the natural “refrigerator” effect of our cool springs, and hardy vegetables thrive with proper care and attention. The challenge of growing in this environment has taught me to be resourceful, intentional, and deeply connected to the land.

From selecting the right seeds to learning how to coax blooms from resilient perennials, I’ve discovered that gardening in tough conditions is as much about creativity as it is about persistence. And while I share the challenges—late frosts, short summers, unpredictable weather—I also celebrate the magic of finding beauty where others might see limits.

A Place for Creativity

Flower Goblin isn’t just about bouquets; it’s about the experience of giving and receiving flowers. From the texture of the paper wrapping to the gesture of handing someone a bouquet, I’m endlessly inspired by the way flowers can communicate love, celebration, and care. Every arrangement is a reflection of that artistry—a blend of the rugged charm of the mountains and the elegance of cultivated blooms.

The Blog

My blog is where I share everything I’ve learned (and continue to learn) about gardening, crop selection, and creativity in a challenging climate. It’s a space to explore topics like:

    •    Tips for growing hardy vegetables and flowers in Zone 2/3

    •    How to extend your growing season naturally

    •    Crop planning and seed selection for a short summer

    •    The artistry of floral arrangements and packaging

    •    Reflections on the connection between gardening and creativity

Through the blog, I hope to inspire others to find joy in their gardens, no matter the challenges, and to share in the beauty of flowers as an extension of art and self-expression.
